Why you need to set up local search

In an Internet Age, online marketing trends tempt businesses to jump higher and quicker than a flash sale on silk ties. While jumping on board with the big players like Facebook and Twitter is good for brand awareness, most social channels fall short of specific search engine queries on products and services.

Google reports that 20% of searches are location-related queries. But astonishingly, less than 50% of businesses have claimed a Google Business page. Also interesting considering Google local listings almost always rank above social profiles. It may not be trendy- it takes about 5 minutes and doesn’t require daily maintenance, but with about 28 billion local searches per month, it’s a business necessity to be found on Google Search, Maps, Google+, and mobile devices.
